Project
Description
Huyton Travel
Project brief
The company had no website at all and the main reasons HTL needed one was for passengers to be able to download timetables, check for a service status and contact the company with issues. The website also needed to be mobile friendly as information needed to be easily accessible for passengers on the move.
Challenges
The important thing was to make the website easy to use and that information could be found easily. Public transport websites can be impenetrable with information difficult to find so making the site as user-friendly as possible was going to be key to its success.
Solution
Nice big links to principal areas of the site are visible at all times ensured that information is easy to find. Timetables are viewable and downloadable on all devices and the design is a simple, straightforward, disarming and quirky step away from your usual public transport website. The company loved the cartoon bus so much they’re using it on their email signatures!
Outcomes
This website receives very high traffic from passengers throughout Merseyside as a valuable resource for planning travel arrangements, contacting the company and finding out about travel disruption. Such is the extent of its use we are keeping the site on our highest bandwidth hosting package. So delighted are HTL they’ve commissioned an app from us for their passengers to install on mobile phones.
